UEFA has addressed the owners of Manchester City with a request to sell their stake in Girona so that both clubs can participate in the next season of the Champions League.
According to The Times, Girona may move from the Champions League to the Europa League if the City Football Group does not cut its stake.
In the current season, Manchester City reached the quarterfinals of the tournament, where they were defeated by Real Madrid in a two-legged tie. Los Blancos have reached the final where they will face Borussia Dortmund.
The decisive match of the European season will take place on Saturday, June 1. The opening whistle at London's Wembley Stadium is set for 22:00 GMT+3, with Slavko Vincic officiating.
