Al-Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo is set to receive a special award from UEFA recognizing him as the all-time top scorer in Champions League history, as announced by UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin.
Ronaldo is renowned for his time with Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, where he won five Champions League trophies. He has scored 140 goals in 183 matches in the prestigious European tournament.
Ceferin is quoted by UEFA’s press service as saying:
Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the brightest stars in the UEFA Champions League constellation. His extraordinary goal-scoring achievements in the competition seem destined to stand the test of time, posing a remarkable challenge for future generations to surpass.
Previously, Ronaldo expressed his desire to play in Saudi Arabia until the end of his career and stated that he does not envision himself as a football coach in the future.
