UEFA's disciplinary committee has decided to suspend Polish referees Bartosz Frankowski and Tomasz Musial. The referees were arrested while being drunk and holding a stolen traffic sign.

Before the third qualifying round match of the Champions League between Dynamo Kyiv and Scotland's Rangers, Frankowski and Musial, who were assigned as VAR referee and assistant, respectively, were detained by law enforcement while under the influence of alcohol. During their arrest, the police found the stolen traffic sign in their possession.

The Polish Football Association temporarily suspended the referees from officiating matches for 90 days. However, after reviewing the matter, UEFA decided to significantly extend the suspension period. As a result, referees Frankowski and Musial will be banned from officiating UEFA matches until June 2025.

The decision to impose the suspension was made due to the referees' serious violation of ethical standards and principles, which harmed the reputation of both the sport and UEFA as a whole.
