The press office of UEFA has announced the nominees for the Player of the Week award after the matches of Matchday 8 in the Champions League for the 2024/2025 season.

The candidates are: Paris Saint-Germain winger and France national team player Ousmane Dembélé; Atlético Madrid forward and former national team teammate of Dembélé, Antoine Griezmann; Inter Milan striker and Argentina national team player Lautaro Martínez; and Aston Villa forward and England national team player Morgan Rogers.

The 33-year-old “Le Petit Prince” Griezmann scored two goals in the match against Red Bull Salzburg (5:1). The 27-year-old Dembélé recorded a hat trick in the game with Stuttgart (4:1). The 27-year-old Martínez was the hero of the match against Monaco (3:0), scoring all three goals for his team, while 22-year-old Rogers scored three times against Celtic (4:2).

The group stage of the Champions League concluded on January 29, with English club Liverpool finishing first in the standings with 21 points. The top eight teams in the table advance directly to the knockout stage, while teams ranked 9th to 24th will participate in playoff matches.
