According to ESPN, two Manchester United fans were detained after the 4-3 FA Cup match against Liverpool for chanting about the tragedy at Hillsborough stadium.
Those detained were two fans aged 21 and 59.
Following the incident, the Football Association of England condemned the behavior of the fans:
We strongly condemn any offensive, abusive and discriminatory chants in football stadiums, and we are determined to stamp this behaviour out.
The association added that such behavior is unacceptable and can have a destructive impact on people. The organization emphasized that such actions must cease immediately and they will support efforts to remove it from the stands.
The tragedy at Hillsborough Stadium occurred during the FA Cup semi-final match between Nottingham Forest and Liverpool on April 15, 1989. The crush on the stands led to the deaths of 96 Liverpool fans, with 766 people suffering injuries of varying degrees.
