New England national football team head coach Thomas Tuchel addressed whether forward Harry Kane would remain the captain under his leadership.
Tuchel stated, as reported by Goal:
Everyone knows how I feel about Harry. I fought very hard to bring him to Bayern. He is already on his way to being a legend. But it’s too early to make these decisions [about the captaincy].

On October 16, the Football Association (FA) of England announced Tuchel's appointment as the national team manager. The German will officially start his role on January 1, 2025.
Tuchel’s most recent position was with Bayern Munich, where he managed from March 2023 to June 2024.
Kane has been a key figure for the Three Lions, finishing as a runner-up in the European Championships in 2020 and 2024, and helping the team secure third place in the UEFA Nations League in the 2018/19 season.
