Bayern head coach Thomas Tuchel has spoken out in defense of Bayern forward Sadio Mané, who punched teammate Leroy Sané after the club's loss to Manchester City (0-3) in the Champions League quarterfinals.
According to the coach, he did not witness the incident but spoke to everyone involved afterwards. Tuchel noted that Bayern is not the first club to have such an incident.
I am the first to defend Mané. I've known him as a professional for a long time. He has never been guilty of anything. Everyone has the right to make a mistake. It was excessive and against the Bayern code. He admitted it and apologized. It was absolutely sincere, he will continue to train.

Mané has played 32 matches for Bayern this season, scoring 11 goals and giving 5 assists.
