Erling Haaland, the forward for Manchester City, has extended his contract with the club until 2034. According to The Guardian, his weekly salary will amount to £500,000.
This sum will make him the highest-paid player in the history of the English Premier League (EPL).
Before this, data from Capology indicated that the highest-paid player in the EPL was his teammate Kevin De Bruyne, who earned an annual salary of €20.8 million, while Haaland was in second place in that ranking.
Haaland has been with the Citizens since July 2022. He has played 126 matches, scored 111 goals, and provided 15 assists during his time at the club. The Norwegian's transfer value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €200 million.
Earlier, a video was published on the City YouTube channel, featuring Haaland speaking to the defenders of the opposing teams.
