American businessman Todd Boehly, one of the co-owners of London club Chelsea, has expressed his intention to buy shares from Clearlake Capital to become the club's majority stakeholder, according to the Telegraph.

Sources indicate that Boehly believes he can raise €2.5 billion to acquire 61.5% of Chelsea's shares from Clearlake Capital. However, the company is reportedly not interested in selling its stake and prefers to maintain or increase it.

It has been noted that several investors are willing to support Boehly, as he has a long-term vision for the club's development, including plans to build a new stadium for the team.

Earlier, Transfermarkt reported that Chelsea spent more in the current summer transfer window than any other team in the English Premier League.
