According to Sport.es, La Liga club Barcelona is actively seeking a new forward to replace 36-year-old Robert Lewandowski, the Polish national team's striker.

Reports indicate that the management of the Catalan club is looking for an attacking player for several seasons ahead and is narrowing it down to three candidates: Norwegian Erling Haaland from Manchester City, Swedish Viktor Einar Gyökeres from Sporting, and Slovenian Benjamin Šeško from RB Leipzig. However, bringing Haaland to Barcelona seems the least realistic option due to the club's unstable financial situation.

On May 19, the publication Todofichajes reported that Barcelona's executives are considering parting ways with the Polish veteran while potentially extending Lewandowski's contract under reduced conditions.

In the first five matches of the 2024/2025 La Liga season, the forward has scored four goals and provided two assists. He has also played in one Champions League match. Lewandowski’s current contract with Barcelona runs until the end of June 2026, with his market value estimated by Transfermarkt at 15 million euros.
