Spain’s Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska addressed statements made by Real Madrid player Vinicius Junior, who claimed that the country should not host the 2030 World Cup unless the situation regarding racism improves.
The French publication RMC Sport quotes the minister as saying:
Respect for diversity is part of our DNA. The fight against hate crimes, both in sports and in general, is one of the priorities of the Spanish government and the Ministry of the Interior.
