The Portuguese national team lost to South Korea with a score of 1-2 in the final round of the group stage match at the World Cup in Qatar.
The teams traded goals in the first half. The Koreans responded to a goal by Portugal's Ricardo Horta with an accurate shot by Kim Young-gwon. Hwang Hee-chan gave his side the lead after normal time. Cristiano Ronaldo was named in the starting line-up of the Portugal national team and was substituted in the 65th minute.

The South Korean national team has scored four points after three games at the 2022 World Cup, took second place in Group H and will continue its performance at the tournament. The Portuguese team has six points after the group stage, Fernando Santos' team entered the playoffs from first place.
