Moscow Spartak's striker Quincy Promes has been detained at the border control in Dubai airport and has been in the police station for several hours, Telegram channel Baza reported.
According to the source, the Dutch footballer was supposed to fly to Saint Petersburg from the winter training camp in the UAE. All Spartak players were allowed to board the plane except for Promes.
On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes, accused of an armed attack on his cousin and involvement in drug smuggling, to 7.5 years in prison. Two days later, the footballer was put on an international wanted list.
