Saudi Arabian league director of football Michael Emenalo has commented on the championship being compared to the Chinese Super League, which has also invited a great number of star players.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Michael said:
Not only will it last longer, but I believe it will be there to stay and it will continue to grow. We are not just bringing players in to pay them so that they can run around and be famous for a few days. There is an embedded plan to improve the infrastructure and develop the academies, recreational football.
Recall, at the beginning of the year, Al-Nassr announced the signing of Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo. After that, the Saudi Premier League clubs signed many famous players such as Karim Benzema, Neymar, Sergej Milinković-Savić and others.
