Former English national team striker Wayne Rooney shared his opinion that midfielder for the Three Lions Kobbie Mainoo could be the hero of the Euro 2024 final, where the English team will face Spain.
Rooney is quoted as saying by The Times:
I just have a feeling about Mainoo and the final. That he is going to score and prove decisive. If you think of him in the tournament, he has got into good positions going forward and I think Spain will do their homework and close off space for Harry Kane, Foden, Bukayo Saka and Jude Bellingham. But that will leave space for a midfielder arriving late, and that Mainoo will get one from a cut-back.
The Euro 2024 final will take place on July 14 in Berlin at the Olympic Stadium. The match will be officiated by a French refereeing team led by referee François Letexier. The staring whistle will sound at 22:00 GMT+3.
