Saudi side Al-Nassr forward and Portuguese national team player Cristiano Ronaldo has taken the top spot on Forbes' list of the highest-paid athletes in the world.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner reportedly earns $258.6 million annually, according to the business publication. Spanish golfer Jon Rahm took second place in the ranking with an annual income of $218 million.
In third place is Inter Miami forward and 2022 World Cup champion Lionel Messi with an income of $135 million. Rounding out the top five on the Forbes list are basketball players LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo, earning $128.2 million and $111 million respectively.
At the end of last year, Sportico published a list of the highest-paid female athletes, which included seven tennis players.
