Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo reacted to the news of the death of the "king of football" Pelé.

My deepest condolences to all of Brazil, and especially to the family of Mr. Edson Arantes do Nascimento. A simple "farewell" to the timeless King Pelé will never be enough to express the pain that currently grips the entire football world. He was an inspiration to so many millions of people. He was, he is and he will be. The love he has always shown me has always been mutual, even in the moments when we communicated at a distance. He will never be forgotten and his memory will live forever in all of us who love football. Rest in peace, King Pelé.
