According to sources, the 40-year-old footballer will be able to take care of the prison garden as part of a program to improve interaction with other inmates. Thanks to this work, Robinho will have the opportunity to play in the local football league. Moreover, there is a library and a chess room in the prison where the renowned player is serving his sentence.
On November 23, 2017, a court in Milan found six people, including Robinho, guilty of the group rape of a 23-year-old woman that happened in 2013. On March 20, 2024, the Supreme Court of Brazil, by a majority vote, ruled that the footballer would serve a nine-year prison sentence in his home country.
On March 23, the head of the Brazilian Football Confederation, Ednaldo Rodrigues, commenting on the criminal cases of Robinho and former Barcelona and Selecao defender Dani Alves, called these episodes a disgraceful chapter in the country's football history.
