Head coach of English Brighton Roberto De Zerby in an interview with The Athletic after the match of the 12th matchday with Sheffield (1:1) criticized the referees who work in the EPL.

I am honest and clear. I don’t like 80 per cent of England’s referees. It’s not a new thing. I don’t like them. I don’t like their behavior on the pitch. England is the only country where there is VAR and you are not sure the decision is right.

Roberto De Zerby

Roberto De Dzerby took charge of Brighton in September 2022, and before that he worked at Shakhtar Donetsk, which he guided to the UEFA Champions League.

De Zerby's disappointment with referees came in the match between Brighton and Sheffield United, when the home side's midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud was sent off in the second half.

Brighton is in eighth place of the EPL with 19 points in 12 matches. Manchester City are leading in the championship with 28 points. The second-third places with 27 points are shared by Liverpool and Arsenal.
