40-year-old former Barcelona and Spain midfielder Andrés Iniesta has decided to retire from his professional football career. This was reported by Relevo.

A graduate of La Masia, the youth academy of Barcelona, Iniesta played for the club from 2003 to 2018. Over his time with the team, he participated in 674 matches, scored 57 goals, and provided 135 assists. He won the UEFA Champions League four times and the Spanish league title nine times with the Catalan club. On the international stage, he was part of the Spanish national team that won the World Cup, as well as two European Championship titles.
His last club was Emirates.
