Midfielder of Al-Shabab Ivan Rakitic commented on the incident in the match for the Saudi Arabia Super Cup between AlIttihad and Al-Hilal, when forward Abderrazak Hamdallah was attacked with a whiplash.
The match ended with a score of 4-1 in favor of Al-Hilal. The Moroccan forward of Al-Ittihad received several lashings from rival fans.
Rakitic was quoted by Mundo Deportivo as saying:
This does not contribute to the image of football in Saudi Arabia. I was very surprised by this. I hope that the right decisions will be made because it does not help the image.
