Swedish police has confirmed the initiation of a preliminary investigation regarding a rape incident that occurred in Stockholm on October 10, 2024.
The investigation was opened after a complaint was filed with the police. Local media have linked the case to the visit of famous French footballer Kylian Mbappé to the Swedish capital; however, he is not officially identified as a suspect. Senior prosecutor Marina Chirakova, who is handling the case, declined to comment for the press.
Mbappe's representatives have strongly denied any allegations, and the player himself suggested that his former club, PSG, may have an interest in spreading such rumors.
