According to The Telegraph, Argentine specialist Mauricio Pochettino is the main candidate for the vacant post of Chelsea head coach from next season.
Frank Lampard is the current manager of Chelsea, and his contract runs until the end of the 2022/23 season. The Blues retired Graham Potter from his post at the beginning of April, after he had been with the club for seven months.
According to the publication, there was more than one round of negotiations with Pochettino, resulting in the 50-year-old Argentine being the favorite to become the Londoners' manager.
Pochettino has been out of work since the summer of 2022 after his dismissal from PSG.
At the end of 31 rounds of the English Premier League (EPL), Chelsea are in 11th place in the standings with 39 points. On March 18, the Londoners finished their performance in the Champions League, losing to Real Madrid in the quarterfinals.
