Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is understood to have given his approval for the return of Ilkay Gundogan this summer to Etihad, according to a report.
The 33-year-old midfielder is believed to have left Barcelona after joining ahead of the 2023–24 season at Camp Nou, agreeing to depart after just one season.
Football journalist Fabrizio Romano has now reported on Tuesday that Pep Guardiola has approved Gundogan's return. It is also confirmed that the midfielder has proposals from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Qatar.
“Understand Pep Guardiola has already approved Ilkay Gündogan’s return to Manchester City. “Pep wants Gündo back as talks are now taking place with his camp, first contact made yesterday. “Decision up to Gündogan as he has proposals also from Saudi/Qatar; Man City, on it.”
