The São Paulo clinic reported the deteriorating health of the legendary Brazilian Pele, who is undergoing treatment after having a tumor in his colon removed in 2021.
Medics diagnosed the 82-year-old ex-footballer with kidney and heart dysfunction.
"The patient remains hospitalized in the general ward under the necessary care of the medical team," the medical center said.
Pelé was routinely hospitalized on December 8, but it was later reported that doctors noticed tumors in Pelé's intestines, liver and also in his lung at an early stage.
