English footballer Michael Palmer, who played for amateur club Crowland Town, died during his team's match against Leverington. The player collapsed on the pitch and died without regaining consciousness.
The press service of Crowland Town expressed their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, and thanked the players and staff of Leverington for their support in this situation. According to the club, Palmer was a kind and caring man and a Manchester United fan.
The tragedy that happened to Palmer is not the first time players have died in England during games. In September 2021, footballer of the club West Bridgford Colts Dylan Rich felt sick during a match of the FA Youth Cup. Three days later, the athlete passed away.
