Starting in 2025, German coach Thomas Tuchel will lead the England national team, according to an announcement from the team's official press service on its social media platforms.
The 51-year-old Tuchel previously managed Bayern Munich, departing the club in May 2024. His coaching career also includes stints with English club Chelsea, French club Paris Saint-Germain, and Borussia Dortmund.
Currently, the interim head coach of the national team is Lee Carsley. Under Gareth Southgate, the team finished second at the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament, losing to Spain in the final with a score of 2-1.
The news about Tuchel's potential appointment to the England coaching role first surfaced on October 11. According to media reports, he may earn around five million pounds per year.
