Neymar, a forward for Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal and the Brazil national team, commented on Luis Suarez's decision to retire from the Uruguayan national team.

Suarez, known as El Pistolero, announced his departure from the international football on September 3. Reports indicated that during the press conference where he made his announcement, the forward struggled to hold back tears.

Neymar wrote on his social media account, sharing a photo of Suarez:

You put your name in the history of your country's football. You are very great. I love you very much. Luisito forever.

Since debuting for Uruguay in 2007, Suarez, who currently plays for MLS club Inter Miami, has made a total of 142 appearances and scored 69 goals for the national team. He is the all-time leading scorer for the Uruguay national team, having been named the team's best player four times (2010, 2011, 2012, 2016) and winning the Copa America in 2011.
