Former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Hea could replace the injured Nick Pope at Newcastle United, according to the Daily Mail.
Pope seriously injured his shoulder in the English Premier League (EPL) Matchday 14 match against Manchester United (1-0) and may miss approximately five months.
According to media reports, de Gea is on the shortlist of Newcastle, who are now looking for a replacement for their goalkeeper. The transfer is possible if the Spanish player agrees to the club's financial terms.
De Hea played for Manchester United for the last 12 years and played 545 games for the club, conceding 590 goals and keeping 190 clean sheets. The Spaniard is without a team for the 2023/24 season. Transfermarkt website estimates his transfer value at €8 million.
Earlier it was reported that de Gea may join Lionel Messi at Inter Miami. In August, he was considered one of the candidates to replace the injured Thibaut Courtois at Real Madrid.
