The head coach of the German national football team, Julian Nagelsmann, has confirmed that Manuel Neuer will be the main goalkeeper for the national team at the home Euro 2024 championship.
The tournament kicks off on June 14. Germany's opponents will be Scotland, Switzerland, and Hungary. Neuer has played 117 matches wearing the national team jersey.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano quotes the specialist as saying:
The decision has been made. Neuer got injured, but it's just a small tear. He won't be away from the sport for eight months. It will be just 10 days and then he'll have the possibility of returning.
Earlier, it was reported that Neuer declined an offer to transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr. Manuel was also named the best goalkeeper of the 2010s by FourFourTwo.
