Portuguese football manager José Mourinho, who heads the Turkish Super Lig club Fenerbahçe, has addressed reports concerning the team's interest in Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr's forward and Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to Fotomac, on November 21, the 61-year-old manager has personally reached out to persuade the 39-year-old veteran to join the Istanbul club. Additionally, Mourinho has contacted the leadership of Fenerbahçe to urge them to focus their efforts on convincing Ronaldo to become a player for the Turkish powerhouse.
News about Cristiano Ronaldo to Fenerbahce is ridiculous. Cristiano might come to Istanbul to eat because it's right in the middle of the road between Saudi Arabia and Portugal. Or maybe he'll come to see his old friend, Jose, we can eat at my hotel.
Ronaldo's existing contract with Al Nassr runs until the end of June 2025. According to Transfermarkt, the market value of the star forward is estimated at €15 million.
On November 21, while commenting on reaching one billion followers across all social media platforms, Ronaldo stated that this milestone did not come as a surprise to him.
