Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modrić has become the owner of an interesting record.
The 37-year-old became the oldest player to score from the spot in the history of the Champions League as he converted a penalty kick during a match in the sixth round of the group stage against Celtic. Modrić scored at the age of 37 years and 54 days.
The previous record belonged to Turkish forward Burak Yılmaz, who scored from the penalty spot for Lille against Chelsea (1-2) at the age of 36 years and 244 days in last season's Champions League 1/8 final.
