Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta developed some unusually innovative coaching methods as the manager, during a dinner with his squad, hired professional pickpockets to teach his squad a valuable lesson about being alert and prepared at all times.
During dinner, professional pickpocketers stealthily stole phones and wallets from the unsuspecting first-team squad. After the meal, Arteta asked his players to empty their pockets, revealing the missing items. Several then realized they were missing valuable items. This exercise was designed to emphasize the importance of constant vigilance and readiness.
Arteta is now preparing his team ahead of the new season in his fifth full season in charge of Arsenal, having taken over in 2019. The Gunners remain one of the favorites to win the 2024–25 Premier League title after they finished as runner-ups behind Manchester City in the last two consecutive seasons.
