Miguel Gamondi, the Argentine coach of Tanzanian club Young Africans SC (Yanga), has praised the team's fans, calling them the lifeblood and driving force behind their success.
Yanga reached the final of the Confederation Cup last season and won both domestic titles. Gamondi attributes their success primarily to the enthusiastic club fans who packed the stadiums for every match.
Yanga fans, or wananchi as we call them, have been the sole reason for us getting where we are. Of course, we have a great team of players who are capable of doing great things, but the biggest backbone of our success has been our fans. They push us to succeed in every game and the noise they bring to the stands gives us confidence whenever we are playing.

He spoke with Telecomasia.net just before their CAF Champions League second preliminary round, second leg match against Ethiopia Coffee, which will be played in Zanzibar, where once again, the coach expects a full stadium.
Yanga carry with them 1 -0 advantage from the first leg played in Addis Ababa last weekend and they only need to avoid defeat to make the group stages.
We expect a difficult match, but I know we have a very solid team. We only need to ensure we convert our chances because what I am sure about is that we will create many chances. We just need to make them count
