Zimbabwe’s national football team head coach Michael Nees believes Cameroon will be a tough opponent when they face off in their second 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, despite the problems that surmounted their preparations for this international window.

A push and shove between the government and the Cameroonian Football Federation saw the team’s preparations almost come to a halt, but they still managed to pick up a 1-0 win over Namibia in their opening match.

I understand the problems they have been going through back at home but if you look at the team, it is full of class and great players. The problems notwithstanding, they will be a very tough team to beat.

The tactician told Telecomasia.net ahead of their game

The coach says they have to be keen on their approach to the game, as any slight mistake will lead to defeat. He wants his side to build on the confidence picked from their first game against Kenya, where they drew 0-0 last Friday, but had lots of chances to score.

We need to keep that momentum. We have worked hard on our finishing to ensure that the chances we get end up in the net. If we can score at least one or two against Cameroon, I believe we will be in a good position to secure victory.

Michael Nees

The game will be played in Kampala, Uganda.
