Lionel Messi, the 37-year-old forward for Inter Miami and the Argentina national team, has shared his memories of living in Barcelona.
Messi told journalist Fabrizio Romano:
My kids were born here. I’ve spent my whole life living there. I feel I belong to Barcelona. My family and I always think about the possibility of returning to live there one day. My children, my wife and I miss our life there a lot.
Messi played for Barcelona from 2003 to 2021 before moving to Paris Saint-Germain, and he currently plays for Inter Miami in the United States.
During his time at Barcelona, Messi made 778 appearances, scored 672 goals, and provided 303 assists. He won ten La Liga titles, seven Copa del Rey trophies, and eight Spanish Super Cups, as well as four Champions League titles, three UEFA Super Cups, and three FIFA Club World Cups with the Catalan club.
Messi's contract with Inter Miami runs until the end of December 2025, and according to Transfermarkt, his market value is approximately €25 million.
As reported by Gol Digital, there are signs that Messi could return to Barcelona to prepare for the 2026 World Cup.
Additionally, the Argentine forward expressed his respect for the Blaugrana, the club where he spent most of his career.
