Argentina striker Lionel Messi has scored the fastest goal of his career at the start of a friendly match with the national team of Australia, Opta statistics service reported.
The striker scored in the 79th second of the match, which took place on June 15. The 35-year-old Argentine scored a goal in the seventh game in a row, renewing his scoring streak with the national team.
The meeting ended in a 2-0 win for Argentina. Defender German Pezzella scored in the second half.
Previously, Messi said that he decided to sign a contract with Inter Miami club. Barcelona, where the forward spent most of his career, also planned to sign a contract with the player.
