France striker Kylian Mbappe feels uncomfortable wearing a protective mask at the 2024 European Championships, according to L'Equipe.
According to the source, the mask is not as thin as the one used by Napoli forward Victor Osimhen. It is 4-5 mm thick, as they added a special foam to protect Mbappe's nose from potential impact, but it severely limits his peripheral vision.
It is noted that during the first training sessions, Mbappe was looking for a comfortable position to use the mask. Moreover, the Frenchman has to remove it several times during the match, because of moisture inside the mask.
Recall, the player suffered a broken nose in the group stage match with the Austrian team, colliding with the opponents' defender. Since then he has to wear a special protective mask. In the match of the second round against the Netherlands, the striker remained on the bench.
Poland striker Robert Lewandowski accidentally hit Mbappe with his hand on the protective mask in one of the Euro-2024 group stage matches. In response, the Frenchman insulted his opponent.
