Madrid Xtra reported that the match against Wales was the 1000th anniversary match for Real Madrid's Croatian midfielder Luka Modric.
Wales and Croatia met on October 15 in the match of the 8th round of the group stage of Euro 2024 qualifiers in Group D. Wales defeated Croatia. Wales defeated Croatia with the score 2-1, Modric came out in the starting lineup.
Luka Modric has been playing for Real Madrid since 2012. The Croatian midfielder is a five-time winner of the UEFA Champions League, silver and bronze medalist of the World Cup, winner of the Golden Ball.
Last season Modric played 51 games for Real Madrid in all competitions, scoring six goals and making six assists. The current contract of the player with the club until the end of the season-2023/24.
