Former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus, who has decided to continue his career in Major League Soccer (MLS), explained his choice.

I definitely didn’t want to stay in the Bundesliga, and Europe wasn’t an option for me anymore, because I really wanted to do something completely different toward the end of my career.

The 35-year-old has signed a 1+1 contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Reus played for Borussia Dortmund from 2012 to 2024, participating in 429 matches, scoring 170 goals, and providing 131 assists. During his time with the club, he won the German Supercup three times, the DFB-Pokal twice, and was named Bundesliga Player of the Year three times. His transfer value is estimated at 5 million euros by Transfermarkt.

Reus could make his debut for the Los Angeles Galaxy in the League Cup match against the Seattle Sounders, scheduled for August 18 at 03:00 GMT+3.
