According to Marca, Premier League club Manchester City is close to finalizing a new contract with their striker and Norway international, Erling Haaland.
It has been noted that the 24-year-old forward's representatives requested that the contract be structured in a way that allows Haaland the option to potentially move to Real Madrid in the future; therefore, a buyout clause will be included in the agreement.
The management of los Blancos are confident that Haaland will eventually swap his Manchester City jersey for Real Madrid’s. However, due to the recent signing of French striker Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid does not currently have an urgent need to acquire Haaland.
As a reminder, Haaland's existing agreement with Manchester City runs until the end of June 2027. In the 2024/2025 season, the City striker has played three Premier League matches, scoring seven goals—more than any other player in the English league at this moment. Haaland's market value is estimated at €180 million according to Transfermarkt.
