Bayern and Manchester City have reached an agreement on the transfer of defender João Cancelo to the German club.
This is reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano on social media. According to him, the Portuguese will go on loan until the end of the 2022/23 season with a purchase option for 70 million euros.
The player has already arrived in Munich and must undergo medical tests, after which he will sign the contract.
According to Romano, the reason for Cansela's departure was his conflict with head coach Pep Guardiola, as well as a lack of playing time. He has been playing for City since the summer of 2019.
His contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027. This season, the 28-year-old has made 26 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing five assists. The Transfermarkt portal estimates Cancelo's market value at €70 million.
