Manchester United management has released a statement about the termination of partnership with 21-year-old English forward Mason Greenwood, who has not played for the team for 18 months.
The club has concluded its internal inquiry into the allegations made against Mason Greenwood. It has been mutually agreed that it would be most appropriate for him to recommence his career away from Old Trafford.
Manchester United statement
Recall that Harriet Robson, Greenwood's girlfriend, accused the footballer of battery and published a video with blood on her face, as well as a photo of her bruises and audio recordings of her and the forward of Manchester United arguing. Greenwood was arrested and did not play for more than 18 months while under suspicion of attempted rape and assault.
In February 2023, Greenwood was cleared of all charges, but he still trained individually and didn't participate in team practices or matches.
Greenwood's contract was valid until the summer of 2025, and the player has 129 games, 35 goals and 12 assists for Manchester United.
This summer Greenwood and Robson, who accused him of rape, had a son.
