David Brailsford, a sports executive and director at Ineos, which owns a stake in Manchester United, has confirmed the completion of the deal to appoint Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim as the new head coach of the "Red Devils."

"It’s done," Brailsford stated after the match against Leicester in the Round of 16 of the English League Cup (which ended with a score of 5-2), responding to a question from a fan.

It has been reported that an official announcement regarding Amorim's appointment could come in the near future. Manchester United and Amorim are expected to sign a two-year agreement with an option for extension.

It's worth mentioning that Erik ten Hag was dismissed from his position as head coach of Manchester United on October 28. The Dutchman took charge of the "Red Devils" in 2022, winning two trophies with the team – the FA Cup and the EFL Cup.

Following Ten Hag's departure, former "Red Devils" forward Ruud van Nistelrooy has been appointed as the interim head coach of the English squad.

According to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook, Ruben Amorim, who is set to lead Manchester United shortly, will not be able to coach the team until November 10.

In addition, there are reports indicating that during Erik ten Hag's tenure as head coach of Manchester United, the club spent over 650 million euros on new player transfers.
