Erik ten Hag, the head coach of Manchester United, has addressed criticism from Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo, now playing for Al-Nassr, previously accused the Dutch manager of lacking ambition.
Ten Hag told the Manchester Evening News:
He said that Manchester United can't win the Premier League. No, he said this, have you read the article very well? So he is far away in Saudi, he is far away from Manchester. Everyone can have, and is entitled to have, an opinion. It is OK. We will see where we are in May next year.
Ronaldo’s current contract with Al-Nassr runs until the summer of 2025, and his market value is estimated at €15 million.
So far this season, he has participated in four matches across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing two assists.
Earlier, The Guardian reported that Manchester United may consider sacking ten Hag due to the team's playing style.
