French President Emmanuel Macron is planning to meet with Real Madrid President Florentino Perez to discuss the participation of forward Kylian Mbappe in the Paris Olympics, as reported by RMC Sport.

The French forward previously announced his departure from PSG at the end of the current season, with an expected move to Real Madrid.

According to sources, Perez will be among the guests visiting the Elysee Palace on Tuesday to mark the 120th anniversary of the foundation of FIFA. Macron is expected to use this meeting to persuade Perez to allow Mbappe to participate in the Olympic football tournament. Earlier, Macron admitted that he is trying to influence Mbappe's "future club" to release the player for the Olympics.

Reports earlier indicated that Real Madrid informed the French Football Federation of their reluctance to release French players for the Olympics. Real Madrid's squad also includes Ferland Mendy, Eduardo Camavinga, and Aurelien Tchouameni.

The Paris Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11.

Recently, it was revealed that Mbappe invited Macron for a farewell dinner in Paris. The footballer also expressed uncertainty about his participation in the home Games.
