The father of Liverpool striker Luis Diaz has been released by Colombian police after his kidnapping, according to journalist Vicky Davila.
The release comes 13 days after the footballer's relatives were kidnapped.
On October 29, the attacker's parents were kidnapped by gunmen from a gas station in the footballer's hometown of Barrancas. Law enforcers managed to free Diaz's mother, then they launched a rescue operation to free the player's father. It is known that the kidnappers are militants of the Army of National Liberation (ELN) of Colombia.
The player himself drew attention to the situation by showing a T-shirt with an appeal to save his father after a goal scored against Luton Town.
