According to ESPN, Kevin De Bruyne, the Belgian midfielder of Manchester City, was prepared to extend his contract with the English club on existing terms. However, an agreement couldn't be reached.
Sources indicate that De Bruyne is considering a move to MLS, and his agent has already discussed a potential transfer to top Saudi Arabian clubs.
On April 4, De Bruyne announced via social media that he will leave Manchester City at the end of the current season.
The 33-year-old Belgian has been with Manchester City since 2015, clinching six English Premier League titles, five English League Cups, three English Super Cups, two FA Cups, and once each the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
During his time with the Citizens, De Bruyne played 415 matches, scored 107 goals, and provided 177 assists across all competitions.
It’s reported that Manchester City management has already lined up two potential replacements for De Bruyne. Additionally, Manchester City’s head coach, Josep Guardiola, praised the 33-year-old as one of the greatest footballers.
