Journalist Ben Jacobs shared on his social media page that the Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr has begun negotiations with Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo for an extension of their agreement.

According to sources, the new contract for the 39-year-old veteran will run until the end of June 2026, allowing Ronaldo to participate in the upcoming 2026 World Cup. Having the striker in the Saudi Arabian league will positively impact the league's image and boost the sale of broadcast rights.

Ronaldo's current agreement with the club runs until the end of June 2025. In the 2023/2024 season, the captain of Al-Nassr played in 31 Pro League matches (scoring 35 goals, providing 11 assists) and nine AFC Champions League matches (six goals, three assists). Ronaldo's market value, according to Transfermarkt, stands at 15 million euros.

On July 2, Ronaldo mentioned in an interview that the Euro 2024 championship would be his last in his professional career. During Euro 2024, Ronaldo played five games for the national team but did not score a single goal.
