The American fund Oaktree has taken control of the Italian club Inter, as reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano on social media. It happened after the Suning Group failed to repay a €368 million loan.
Oaktree's CEO Alejandro Cano stated that the fund recognizes the huge responsibility to society and the historical legacy of Inter. He emphasized that they are committed to the long-term success of Inter and believe their ambitions align with the passionate fans of the club both in Italy and around the world.
Our initial focus is operational and financial stability. We have great respect for Inter Milan's management team and look forward to working closely with them to provide strong leadership for the club. Winning the second star was a pivotal moment for the club and our aim is to build on the momentum achieved on the pitch to develop a clear path for consistent growth and success.
